Today was the annual BBI Memorial Golf Tournament for the Grandmother's Cup! We played at the Greens of Tanyard in Louisa, VA again. This year we had 5 teams. The Management Team consisted of Dan Flis, Roger Randal, Dave Sundstrom, and Phil Rogers. The Worker team was Jay Irish, Pascal Perot, Klaus Fuerst, and Tom Birchler. We did not record the other information, and the photos of the event seem to be mis-placed, but we had a great time and will be doing it again next year!

Today was the annual BBI Memorial Golf Tournament at the beautiful Greens At Tanyard course in Louisa, VA. This year we had four teams participating. The Management Team consisted of Dan Flis, Roger Randal, Dave Sundstrom, and Joon Ra. The Worker Team was Jay Irish, Tom Birchler, and Pascal Perot (their forth team member called in "sick", figures for the workers). The Consultants Team was made up of Bob Roe, Chris Perot, Klaus Fuerst, and Simon Mittlelholzer. And the final team was derisively referred to as the "Millennials", and was Trey Irish, Iain McGlothin, Nico Rodriquez , and Sean Michael. It was a great day with good weather. The Consultants Team won with a score of -5 and the Management Team came in second with a -1. The Workers and Millennials were a big disappointment this year, which is the way Bill Birchler would have wanted it! Click Here for the pictures.

Today we held the BBI Memorial Golf Tournament at the Tanyard Country Club in Louisa, VA. This was a special event this year, the official BBI Father, Alan Birchler, recently passed away and it was dedicated to him. This year, to make the event more "diverse and inclusive" we drew out of the Grandmother's Cup to determine the teams. The winners of the tournament was a threesome (the fourth had to bow out due to a family illness) that consisted of Randy Rivoire, Joon Ra, and Bob Roe. They will get their names engraved on the Grandmother's Cup! Click Here for the pictures!

Today the annual BBI Memorial Golf Tournament was held at Tanyard Country Club in Louisa, VA. We had a record turnout, and The Disgruntled Workers team consisting of Jay Irish, Pascal Perot, Tommy Oxenreider, and Tom Birchler were victorious with a score of -10. In second place was the Management Team of Dan Flis, Roger Randall, Dave Sundstrom, and Joon Ra at -7. The other teams this year were the Consultants - Bob Roe, Jay Scheurenbrand, Simon Mittleholzer, and Steve Dvornick. The Union Representatives - Trey Irish, Logan Kuzma, Brad Cottrell, and Nico Rodriguez. And the final group were the Millenials - Stephen Roe, Brett Irby, Connor Sullivan, and Collin Houtz. A funny thing happened when we were hanging out at BBI Labs at Lake Anna recently. Our Facilities Department had started to discuss painting the garage with a local painter (the same original Barn Red color of course), when General Manager Melanie asked what was going on. She quickly took over the discussion and started making management decisions. The result is a new look for BBI Labs! Click Here to see the pictures.

Today was the annual BBI Invitational Golf Tournament held at the Greens of Tanyard golf club in beautiful Louisa, VA. The teams were as follows: Management Team consisting of Dan Flis, Roger Randall, Dave Sundstrom, and Joon Ra; The Worker consisting of Jay Irish, Pascal Perot, Klaus Fuerst, and Tom Birchler; The Consultants consisting of Trey Irish, Marc Plante, and Jake Mays.
This year was special because BBI Labs commissioned a new Grandmothers Cup with all past winners' names engraved. The Management Team won this year in a rout, and of course this is as Bill Birchler would have wanted it. Click here for pictures from the event.

Today was the annual Bill Birchler Industries Memorial Invitational Golf Tournament at the Tanyard Country Club in Louisa, VA. We had three teams competing in 105-degree temperatures for the Grandmother's Cup. We had the Management Team, The Disgruntled Workers Team, and the Hostile Takeover Team. This year the Hostile Takeover Team consisting of Chris Robb, Trey Irish, and Andy McKinley won. They got an eagle on the first hole, and ran away with the tournament from there. Today we held the 2010 BBI Memorial Golf Tournament at Tanyard Country Club in Louisa, VA. We had three teams this year, and it was a close match all the way. The team of Jay Irish, Pascal Perot, and Jay Scheurenbrand won the tournament, and the right to hold the Grandmother's Cup for another year! Click Here for pictures.

After 13 years BBI Labs decided to replace the Mastercraft ski boat. It has served us well over the years, but it is time to move to the next generation boat. The new one is a Supra SunSport 21, with a wakeboard tower, awesome sound system, a digital command center, and 325 horsepower! Click Here for the pictures.

This year's tournament had BBI Chief Economist Andy Sand returning to play for the Management Team. The result was a major blowout by the BBI Workers' Team, winning by 13 strokes! Today Melissa Kim and Joon Ra welcomed their new baby boy, Alex. Alex couldn't wait to get started on the outside, arrived two weeks early and weighed in at 6 pounds 2 ounces and 18 1/2 inches long. Today was the 2008 BBI Memorial Invitational Golf Tournament at Tanyard Country Club in Louisa, VA. This year was a rematch between BBI Management and the BBI disgruntled workers. At stake is the legendary Grandmother's Cup. This year the Management team won again for the second straight year by one stroke. Congratulations to all the participants. The new Bill Birchler was born today. He would not come out voluntarily, so management decided to go in and get him. Bill weighed in at 7 pounds and 7 ounces, is 19 3/4 inches, and was born at 11:00 AM. Mother Melanie and little Billy are doing great. Click Here to see his first photos!

BBI is happy to announce that Official BBI Niece Melissa Kim is expecting a baby boy in July! She and her husband Joon Ra are happy and excited. This also means that the new Bill Birchler will be an uncle soon after he is born (for a full explanation of all this family stuff, you can contact this website). From a corporate perspective, this assures management continuity well into the future, as COO David Sundstrom's son John was born last July. Congratulations to Melissa and Joon!

This year the tournament pitted the BBI Board of Directors Team versus the Disgruntled Workers Team. Today was the third annual Bill Birchler Industries Memorial Golf Tournament, held at the Tanyard Country Club in Louisa, VA. This year the tournament pitted the BBI Board of Directors Team versus Team Ulica and a team made up of BBI disgruntled workers led by Chief Engineer and Blimp pilot Jay Irish. This year the disgruntled workers won the tournament. Of course, being disgruntled workers, none of them showed up for the ceremony to award the Grandmother's cup - which is the reason for no pictures this year.

BBI Publishing VP Mark Sullivan and his wife Susan are happy to announce the arrival of their new baby girl, Anne Hanson Sullivan. She was born at 8 PM and weighed in at 7 lbs, 7 ounces. Cousin Chris Boone and his wife Nicki are the proud parents of a new baby boy today. Hayden Alexander Boone was born today at 5:24 AM, was 6 lbs. 14 oz., and is reported to have more hair than his father. Baby and mother are doing great. Congratulations Chris and Nicki!

Today was the second annual Bill Birchler Industries Memorial Golf Tournament, held at the Tanyard Country Club in Louisa, VA. This year the tournament pitted the BBI Board of Directors Team versus Team Ulica, which are the official Friends of BBI. This year the BBI Board of Directors won the tournament, as Bill Birchler would have wanted it. Several of Bill Birchler's good friends recently donated money to The Ohio State University in Bill's name and in exchange a memorial brick will be installed at the Ohio Stadium in Columbus, OH in Bill's honor later this summer. We at BBI Labs, using the vast resources at our disposal, secretly obtained a replica of the brick that details the message Bill's friends specified. The hard-working BBI R&D Labs employees were awarded a complementary Breckenridge, Colorado ski vacation. You can Click Here to view the pictures. It must be explained that these employees don't get out much, and were too afraid to take their cameras out on the slopes with them (worried about falling on them, most likely). That is why the only pictures are from their hotel balcony. Of course, this means there is no proof that those people ever used the expensive lift-tickets the company bought them!

Today the city of Alexandria, Virginia Charles Beatley Public Library dedicated the William J. Birchler Periodical Room in the memory of Bill Birchler, due to his generous donation to the library. Senior Economist Andrew Sand was having thoughts of voting for John Kerry in the Presidential Election, which deeply disturbed the BBI Management Team. In order to deal with this crisis, Management immediately sent Andy to the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in California. Hurricane Isabel hit the East Coast yesterday and did minimal damage to BBI, with power and water outages minimally affecting production lines. We would like to recognize all BBI employees for their gallant efforts during the storm.

The BBI test PWC engine was destroyed due to CTO Dan Flis' macho carelessness (for more information, see the Marine Products page). All attempts to repair it by BBI Chief Engineer Jay Irish were unsuccessful. It is a good thing Dan is the only one with the BBI network and server passwords, or he would have been in big trouble.
